Everyone antes before the deal and the hand starts on the flop — no preflop betting at all. A house game, usually once an orbit.
The dealer announces a bomb pot, every player at the table puts in the agreed ante — usually one to three big blinds — and the flop comes out immediately. There is no preflop round at all: no blinds to open, nothing to fold to, and no information about anybody's hand. Ten players, ten random holdings, and a pot already worth twenty big blinds before a single decision has been made.
That structure changes the game completely. Everyone has a random range, so nobody has a range advantage, and the flop hits somebody hard almost every time. Top pair is worth much less than usual because ten random hands see the board; the hands that win big pots are two pair and better, strong draws, and the nuts. Meanwhile the pot is already large relative to the stacks, so the stack-to-pot ratio is low and commitment arrives quickly.
Many rooms deal a double-board bomb pot, running two flops, turns and rivers with the pot split between them. That halves the value of scooping one board and rewards hands that can win both — the nuts on a single board is only half a pot.
The mistake is playing a bomb pot like a normal hand. Continuation betting into nine random ranges is lighting money on fire, because someone connected. Second pair is a check-fold, not a hand to protect. And the big draws are worth far more than usual: with a pot that size and no preflop history to read, the pure equity plays itself.
